* Federal law requires political committees to use their best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. An individual may make contributions of up to $5,000 per the calendar year to the PAC. Federal law prohibits contributions to a PAC from: corporations (including corporate credit cards) labor organizations or national banks; any person contributing another person’s funds; foreign nationals who lack permanent resident status; and government contractors. Contributions to any PAC are not tax-deductible under federal law.
POH, the Midwest’s largest and oldest bipartisan Pro-Israel Political Action Committee, has for more than 36 years financially supported and endorsed candidates for the United States Senate and House of Representatives who support a strong U.S.–Israel relationship.
Unique among major Jewish organizations in the Midwest, we are registered with the United States Federal Election Commission and are permitted to contribute directly to the political campaigns of Pro-Israel candidates. POH plays a significant role in building relationships with our legislators.
Our diverse membership includes Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Jews from Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Secular backgrounds, as well as non-Jews of all ages who share one mission: ensuring Israel’s security and existence as a Jewish state by promoting steadfast bipartisan Congressional support for the U.S.–Israel relationship.
